I recently found a handwritten note from my dad on a four-part memo sheet he used at his office. The white original is a keepsake I deeply cherish.
Who knows what happened to the yellow, pink and blue copies that once accompanied it?
As a summer job, I was responsible for filing those coloured copies into his office folders. Years later, his staff were finding sheets I had misfiled. Yikes.
Filing paperwork and other repetitive tasks have never been my natural strength.
I can do them, and I will do them when needed.
But over time, working against my strengths drains my energy and can eventually leads to burnout. 🪫
And burnout comes at a significant cost. 📉
A 2025 study found that 60% of workers finish their day feeling depleted, with little energy left for their personal lives or interests.
For leaders, that can show up as disengagement, low morale, declining performance or employees quietly searching for their next opportunity.
Often, burnout builds slowly and goes unnoticed until it becomes a much bigger problem. 🌀
In today’s fast-moving, AI-infused and hybrid or remote work environments, managing energy matters more than ever, both your own and your team’s.
If you’ve ever had to work outside your natural strengths for an extended period, you know the impact. It takes more energy, requires more recovery time and gradually reduces focus while increasing stress.
Burnout is real. And it’s debilitating. 😣
What if there was a different way to lead your team and manage your projects?
