Don’t let first impressions come last! Attending to a few key details can amplify that first impression before they even open the letter. That’s why we like to dress up our envelopes, especially when sending a package, a thank you note, or a holiday greeting.
| |
1. Start with a novel envelope. There are so many colours or textures available, it is a shame not to indulge. Some of our favorites are metallic, clear and frosted envelopes (the clear and frosted ones give an enticing hint of what’s inside). Look for one that supports your brand. |
| |
2. Engage their curiosity with a creative return addresses. Write out or pre-print your return address on the envelope’s back flap. Or, to be completely different, place it horizontally along the front left edge. You can use a pre-printed clear label that allows you to customize your return address with an unusual shape, a colour, or personalized imagery. |
| |
3. Address by hand. If you have illegible writing, find a pen you feel comfortable using. To save envelopes, write on clear mailing labels until you get it just right. Avoid inelegantly printed white mailing labels. |
| |
4. Add embellishments: A seal over the flap adds interest. It can be a plain foil seal, or a wax seal customized with your logo, initials or a graphic. You can get really creative by wrapping the envelope with cord to look like a small packet, giving it an authentic hand-assembled feel. |
| |
5. Personalize your postage. Take advantage of Canada Post’s Picture Postage and create your own stamps. Use your logo, a tag line, a photo or a graphic, anything that suits your fancy and your brand. If you are like us and have a large holiday season mailing, it’s a great way to embellish your greeting. |
